My wife and I used to live in a unit at 70 Spadina Road. It was the first place our baby girl lived after she was born. I was teaching at U of T, and my wife was taking courses part-time, so it was the perfect location for us. We’ve since moved to the ‘burbs (Toronto was too expensive), but we always say that if we could live in any part of downtown again, it would be in the Annex. We have a very sentimental connection to the area because we started our family there. I was looking up the postal code for 70 Spadina Road the other day for a housing history I had to complete, and came across the negative reviews around bed bugs. They made me pretty mad and I wanted to set the record straight. As parents, we would never have put our baby in danger like that. We never had problems with bed bugs at 70 Spadina Road, and we loved living in that building as well as that area. Everyone in the building was great, including the management at Wynn Group. If people were having problems with bed bugs, I would guess they’ve brought them with them, or the problem is contained to their unit.
I have been living at 70 Spadina Road for most of the time that I’ve studied at University of Toronto. Aside from living directly on campus, building is as close as you can get to living within walking distance to campus. Plus, living at 70 Spadina Road gives students a bit more freedom to explore the city. I find a lot of times living on campus confines you to a few city blocks, and there’s so much more out there. 70 Spadina Road is super close to some of my favourites in Toronto. And it’s super convenient; Scotiabank, Tim Hortons and Metro are within walking distance and it is so close to the subway, it makes it super easy for me to go to Bay and Bloor or Dundas Square to catch a movie or go shopping. Never really had a problem at 70 Spadina Road. I know a lot of people get concerned with bed bugs in apartment buildings, but I have never personally experienced anything like that at 70 Spadina Road. A lot of the reviews saying that there are bed bugs, but I’m pretty sure there aren’t. Despite the apartment building being on the older side, it’s really well-maintained and my unit was clean when I moved in. The best part about 70 Spadina Road, like I mentioned, is how convenient it is for a student like myself. That’s why I never went to look for a new apartment since I moved in at the beginning of my 2nd year of school. This is my last year in school, and I can’t imagine myself leaving 70 Spadina Road because the rent and location will be great for when I graduate and start looking for a job. My review is that if you’re looking for a great location at a great price, this is the best place for you.
